bridesmaids and the president

have you seen the movie "bridesmaids"?
if you have, you will IMMEDIATELY know what scene I am talking about. if not, let me paint you a picture:
the microphone scene
there is a hilarious scene in the movie during the engagement party. the party is at a very upscale country club. the main character Annie (Kristin Wiig) is broke, in a junk car and doesn't fit in at all. She is dressed cute, but pretty casual.Oh, and she is the maid of honor. And Helen (Rose Byrne) is wealthy, beautiful, newer friend of the bride. She very much wants to be involved and BFF with Lillian (Maya Rudolph... the bride). and she is wearing a ball gown. This is the first time the 2 have met.
so here is the scene.
it's best man/ maid of honor toast time at the engagement party. The best man give a typical speech. then Annie gives a sweet, nervous speech. Helen gets up, takes the microphone from Annie and gives an absurdly emotional speech, making everyone cry. Annie decides she needs a do over, gets back up and gets the microphone from Helen when she is finished. She recalls some BFF memories with Lillian, goes on and on about how much she loves her. Cue Helen, taking the microphone back, recalling a memory from a trip they went on, when she decided Lillian is her best friend. Back to Annie... the one upping continues. it is HILARIOUS. and it all comes down to Annie, microphone in hand, bringing us home... and Helen walks up with another microphone. And starts talking over her. I think they sing. It was one of the funniest scenes in the whole movie. So awkward. So painful.

it comes down to the 2 HATING each other, wanting to win everyone over.
And that is how i felt last night watching the President and Speaker of the House. I half expected the President to come back on afterwards and do a re-do, then the Speaker walking into the hallway next to the President with his own microphone and podium. It laughed, but i felt SO awkward. I don't really know how i feel about the whole situation, and they didn't help.
BAH. Politics. AmmmIrighhht?

In other news, I would like to thank Spotify, for making my life better. And all my friends who have it for letting me stalk their music.

also, if you watch Bachelorette, you will know why this is awesome. If you don't... let me explain
This guy is Ryan. He is a creeper. He was sent home already, but decided that Ashley REALLY DOES love him, so he followed her to Fiji where she was with the remaining guys to surprise her. Yeah. creeps. But he wanted to see if she would give him another chance. She told him she would think about it. He was just sitting around waiting. for DAYS. She went on a date with another guy, and we see this. I almost fell off my couch laughing.
(also: If you watch the show, please go to http://www.knoxmccoy.com/ and read his recaps. HILARIOUS.)
Remember... he is creepy. Always kinda lurks. Cries. A lot. Wept when she told him she wasn't feeling it.
here is the amazing scene.

he's just looking at the helicopter. just standing there. HILARIOUS. oh my gosh. i actually cried laughing. CRIED. so so so so so so so so so funny. Probably one of the best moments of my life. Wow.

Happy Tuesday all
