Thank taige!

so today i invented something AMAZING.

let me explain what you are looking at.
that is a bagel with half low fat cream cheese and half... NUTELLA.

yes you.

my "nephew" jacob drew this. I saw it on Tiffany's fridge yesterday. She said that for his quiet time he draws pictures about the Lord, or verses he is learning.
this is 2 boxers calling upon the Lord. My favorite is the one pointing his boxing glove at the cross. as if Jesus said "who me?"

new chandelier
the kitchen
the main living room

ok... watching all the inauguration coverage i noticed this one little thing that confused/bugged me. So excuse me for a moment. i am going to direct the rest of this post to a specific person... you don't have to read if you don't. this is between me and him...

Sting, you are a handsome man... one of the handsomest ever. And i still love you. And your music. Here is a handsome picture of you in fact.

...a preview

that is the dark blue that is now in the little living-room. it is quite dark in this picture, but in reality... *sigh* it is gorgeous.
and that bright pink... that is in little areas of the kitchen. it looks INCREDIBLE.
as long is there is no husband in this house, i am going to have a pink kitchen dang it.
tomorrow things should be completely done... GLORY
it has been fun, but i am pretty much at the "i am done with this crap" point.

end product pics coming soon!

do you hear that?

it is the sound of my heart BREAKING.

I GOT THE JOB! I start on the 2nd, and will be paid until then! YAY!!!
tomorrow oh tomorrow!!
i have been itching to paint in the house since the day we moved in. (over 3 years ago). Well, since i currently have all this free time on my hands (the interview went well... just waiting to hear back. PLEASE PRAY i got the job!) i thought NOW IS THE TIME!
so, i picked out paint colors... got cheap supplies at big lots, and then debated on how to budget out the paint itself. since i need to be careful on my spending... being unemployed and all.
but i had a glorious surprise this evening. Sweet sweet Daniel and Emily gave me a gift card to Lowes... specifically to buy paint! YAY! And the offer to come and help! So tomorrow i buy the testing samples, and then hopefully on saturday we jump in!!!
me with my AWESOME UNC lowes giftcard (do they know me or what?) and my samples. the blue is actually a dark teal, going in the "dining room" that we use as an extension of the living room. the gray is for everything else and the pink is for a few teeny spots in the kitchen. there will be some before/afters.

ps, this made my day... a few days ago

she actually loved it. don't let the screaming eyes fool you. she adores me.

PPS- for all you "The Notebook" fans out there (you know who you are) this made me and shaynah laugh. not because it is Ryan Gosling (but we didn't mind) but because of our love of beards.

i haven't talked about saturday yet. there is a reason. it was UGLY. Shaynah and I were able to go to the game, which was exciting! but it was NOT PRETTY

Before i start talking about the ugly, something sweet...
for those of you who don't know, Panther's owner Jerry Richardson needs a heart transplant. the team LOVES Jerry. He is apparently a super nice guy. Which makes the loss even more devastating, but this picture super sweet... Jerry with Steve Smith.

ok, now on to the ugly. Thankfully, Jake has admitted that the loss was TOTALLY his fault (agreed)... but this picture is still pitiful. poor guy. lousy birthday for him.
"I hate my life right now"... that is a direct quote. Fox said it to me. though we were in the nosebleeds and couldn't really see him.
Beason was a smidgen upset.
do you hear that sound? it is my heart breaking. DiAngelo looks SO sad. And he worked SO hard.

now, i have totally forgive Jake. I still love Jake. But that night, sitting in the cold and rain, this thought popped in my head...

more time

since i clearly have more time on my hand, i remembered that i wanted to post this!
my roommate Jenn showed it to me this weekend

i remember the first time i was called a calvinist. it was when i had to meet with the chaplain at INSP for part of my interview process. INSP is very "health and wealth" gospel. he was not. so after talking for a bit, he leaned back in his chair and squinted over his glasses while pointing his pen at me... in his loud booming voice he said "you, my dear, are a calvinist.". i grinned and said "yes sir, i am." he didn't say anything for a moment. then he shot up out of his chair and said "GOOD! Now I am not the only one here!! "

this morning was lovely! i slept in, had an awesome quiet time, continued to reflect on last nights bible study, and used a Dunkin Donuts coupon! yes and yes please!!!

so, it is official!
i am totally at peace. the Lord poured grace upon me this morning, and i felt everyone's prayers! during my meeting, i was even grinning and thanking them for everything! the position might still work out, it just isn't ready yet. i will be looking elsewhere, and hope to find something quickly.

please please please pray for a job!

thank you all so much!

prayer please

so, this is very reminiscent of this past March...

Once again my position is ending at INSP. A bunch of people are facing layoffs, and i knew i was on the chopping block. I got the official word that Monday is the big day... but i don't have to go to the meeting. They once again might have a position for me! It would be back at the SC office (a nice 40 mile trek) and i don't know any of the details. I don't even know how much of a possibility it is. But it is a possibility.
So friends, please pray for me. My heart is totally at peace. The Lord has been so kinda to grant me much much peace. I only had about an hour of freaking out, but even then he reminded me of truth!
Kat remedied me of job 42:2 "i know You can do all things; and no plan of Yours can be thwarted"
so good
please pray that i would still have a job. now is not really the time to be on the hunt, but i have already sent out resumes just in case.
Thank you all!

in light of tonight's game and all the excitement leading up to it (go gators... i say that mainly because my roommate went there, and if they lost i knew she would be pouting) i wanted to share this video

i loved all 3 guys who were up for the heisman, but i wanted tim to win.
i was babysitting baby kate while the ceremony was on. she was asleep in my arms when sam made his speech. so i decided to make a game of how many times he said "unreal". i was impressed. i counted 5 times.
let me know if i missed any

my dear friend Blake directed a short film and entered it in youtube's Project Direct. the grand prize is a trip to Sundance Film Festival, having your film screened there, meeting some important dude and having your film distributed AT sundance. This was a HUGE deal! He made it to the top 10... after that, it was in the hands of viewers. So we all voted every day.... and yesterday he found out he WON!!!!
this is all crazy exciting. I should have posted this earlier to get you guys to vote, but here is the film...

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.
1 peter 1: 3-12
