drunk diane

i have made it very clear my love for Annie Hall.
Diane Keaton is adorable in it.

I love her in everything she's in.
have you seen Family Stone? She is amazing in it. Just incredible.

She is in a new movie and is currently doing the talk show circuits.
She was recently on Ellen...and apparently Di gets a little nervous before hitting the stage...so she likes to partake of some liquid courage.
I watched this live on Tuesday and was crying laughing. She is so adorable.
She is very Annie Hall in this scene.
Perhaps the cutest part is when she talks getting married.
How is it possible that no one ever asked her. Just look at her
(brace yourself. the conversation starts out a bit awkward. I love that Ellen can't stop laughing at her)
When she says "i enjoy the kissing of the men"... amazing

shouting matches

i've been waiting a few weeks to share this one with you guys!
I really love Bon Iver. Justin Vernon, the main dude, has released a new project.
The Shouting Matches is like if Ryan Adams and Tom Petty and Neil Young had a music baby.
it was finally released yesterday.
NPR streamed it a couple of weeks ago and I fell madly in love.
Enjoy!

say hello to your mother for me

a few years back Shaynah and I decided to plan a trip. The year before we went to San Diego, my hometown. She fell in love with it. We decided to go somewhere neither of us had ever been. We made a short list and decided on Boston.
We had both always wanted to go to Boston...so this seemed perfect. We went in early spring, and it was a LOT colder than we expected. But we both instantly fell in love with the city

the news of the explosions yesterday were heart breaking. Slowly throughout the day I'd remember more people that I knew who lived in Boston, or nearby. There was a flood of relief with each one when we'd get word that they were ok. (including Jordan Knight. I'm not going to lie...i was relieved when he tweeted he and the rest of NKOTB was ok. No shame.)
The temptation is to start pointing fingers, deciding someone is attacking our nation, or even make up conspiracy theories.
But this is know. we are a fallen people living in a fallen world. the sin and ugliness that enables someone to do something like this lives in all of our hearts. Apart from Christ, there is no good. But God is good. This did not surprise Him. This did not slip between his fingers and out of his grasp.
For my work I train volunteers to have online chats with people visiting our ministry website asking questions about God and Jesus. I prepare them for the type of questions that will come their way. "If God is so loving, why do bad things happen?" is a common one. And we cannot answer why this happened. But we do know that God is good. His loving kindness endures forever. He comforts His people. He promises to give them a hope and a future. And He promises that sorrow lasts only for the night, but joy comes in the morrow
praying for brothers and sisters in the great city of Boston.
I just went back through these pictures, which made me smile. 2 young girls, no idea what God had in store for both of us. No idea that a stupid boy name Michael would come and mess everything up (j/k) and that soon the coolest kid on the block would make an appearance.
at Harvard. Felt smarter just being there

doing what we do best on trips...eating. This was at a Salvedorian hole-in-the-wall place that we fell in love with. It's not closed, which is a crime to the good people of Jamician Plain, Boston

Stuck

Stuck is a documentary about the process for international adotion. It follows the story of 3 adoptive families. It looks honest and beautiful. As someone who plans on adopting one day, I want this film to bring as much attention as possible to the broken system
you can read and learn more about the film here

george and woody

I've been listening to Gershwin a lot in the mornings this week. Not sure what triggered it. It just feels right
whenever I listen to Gershwin, i think of the opening scene to Manhattan.
If you've never seen it...it's gorgeous. Woody filmed the entire movie in black and white. It's a love letter to NY

and thinking about this scene gets me thinking about this scene

Diane Keaton really took pictures during the end of that scene. they are some of my favorites

and then watching that scene makes me think of this...

and now... george gershwin

mondayz

hey guyz. it's monday. i'm going to start adding a "z" to anything i canz. itz coolz.

so, i've been posting things that don't really have much to do with me, other than my obsession with the Bluth's and West Wing.
First off...I need to take back my answer to the Josh/Sam thing. I said Leo. which is true. He is the best. But also, i've kind of fallen in love with Toby. More than expected. Like, i'm tempted to write in a character that is played by me that marries toby. and then take out the whole "andy and the twins" storyline. just a thought.
i think i have a thing for grumpy old jewish guys. I just adore him.

anyway.
it's been an exciting week. Not really. but stuff has happened
i got to hang out with the Calnin kids. Eliot wanted to color. the only thing i had was the Ryan Gosling coloring book that i got for my bday last year. so i let him go at it.

ashley brought me some goodies from her NYC trip. It was a lot of glorious joyful glory goodness.

also on Monday... i went into work late and had my french press with me. so i was greeted with this

and i started taking daily outfit picture exchanges with Aly. this is my cas-look. hence the hand in the pocket. because i'm just a casual gal ya'll. Keeping it cas.

we went out for Ashley's birthday for dessert crepes and I got her what I thought would be the most awesome gift of all time...a throw-back to her youth. I bought this.

sadly, they changed the covers of the BSC books. and they look stupid now. And you can't tell immediately what they are, like you could back then
so it was anti climatic  lots of "what....ooooh! fun." and what not. whatever. I still thought I was the bees-knees for getting it. I felt like Kelly Kapoor.

Everything I Need to Know, I Learned From Kelly Kapoor

i thought Lauren was going to do something to me...so i kinda panicked. this was the outcome

Sarah and b-day girl!

Heather and Misty
Heather has always been my partner in crime. I know that I can count on her for amazing ideas, or for helping execute mine. Though no one else had our backs when we tried to get a guy to buy Ashley's shots, to go to karaoke  or whatever else we thought up...she did have my back in loudly singing loudly at Miyagis. We owned No Scrubs, Izzo, and It wasn't me.

then sunday included park time with this guy, who was OBSESSED with trying to eat grass and clover. I mean, you'd thing it was his job

and today I had Cody do this...
based on this

and Cody made me watch this first thing this morning

last but not least, i made this playlist today because it's monday and i wanted to stay in bed and i needed a musical pep talk
WARNING- this is a heaphone-neceassry playlist...if you know what I mean. NSFW. bombs are dropped.

happy monday my dearest dearz.

it's going to be one of the happiest days of the year.
Arrested Development is releasing season 4 on May 26th.

15 episodes
and i very well might watch all in 1 sitting.
guys...this is going to be the best

and in celebration, I have found clips/pictures of some of my favorite scenes
this one i have been in search of for ages. and i found it this morning.
i think it's a sign.
